Using Windows and Chrome for Hourly Tasks? Try this little hack:
This tip comes from our user, Michael T. We tried it, we dig it, here's what Michael wrote:
I love Hourly Tasks and it really helps me get organised, but I wish you had a desktop app. Until the desktop app comes I have come up with a solution for myself. This is what I did:
- Using text editor I created a file called MNT.bat and then I pasted this in:
@echo off
start chrome.exe --profile-directory="Default" --app="data:text/html,<html><body><script>window.moveTo(0,0);window.resizeTo(650,window.screen.availHeight);window.location='https://www.hourlytasks.com';</script></body></html>"- Then I updated the shortcut icon and I keep it on my desktop.
Now, whenever I'm ready to start work, I double click on the shortcut and it's ready to roll. Hope it helps someone. I tried to share it on Twitter, but the instructions are too long.
Thanks Michael! Credits to you. It works great. As a suggestion from us, click "ESC" key at any point for a similar effect.
